Crew changes have begun in Sri Lanka through charted flights. However foreign crew embarkation and disembarkation are not permitted through commercial flights.
Crew disembarking from a vessel will be sent directly to the transit hub and, once the charter flights are available, will be transferred directly to the airport for repatriation.
A PCR test should be completed before 72Hrs of boarding a flight and provided to a port health officer before landing in Sri Lanka.
In the event of a personnel tested positive, treatment should be made in the designated intermediate care facility.
Where required for seafarers returning to their home country, PCR tests will be conducted on board the transit hub.
